Capt. Johnny Greene is proud to offer you a clean, state-of-the-art 65-foot custom built offshore fishing vessel. The Intimidator is a big, comfortable, ultra modern vessel with all of the latest in marine electronics and tackle. Unlike many vessels in the Gulf, we are inspected annually by the USCG to maintain our Certificate of Inspection as a multi-passenger vessel that includes checks on all systems from top to bottom as well as review of safety drills and procedures.
Owner and Operator Capt Johnny Greene will be with you every step of the way; from assisting you in booking a personalized trip to locating the illustrious fishing grounds. Once onboard, you will find an experienced, professional and courteous crew that is kind and kid friendly. We fish all year long and offer many types of private fishing trips but we specialize in family outings, full day and overnight trips.
There are many species of fish to be caught of the Alabama gulf coast all year long. Spring time fishing is highlighted by Cobia, King and Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, Triggerfish, and a variety of Snappers. In the summer and fall months, the focus seems to be more on the short family trips for mackerel or the longer multi-day trips to the offshore rigs for Yellow Fin and Black Fin, Dolphin, Wahoo, Marlin and Swordfish. In the late fall and winter, the emphasis is more on trolling for Redfish and Mackerel on the short trips. Offshore during this time, the weather may be a bit fickle but the offshore fishing is at its peak. The one type of fishing that is available year round, on the longer day trips and overnighters, is the deep-dropping for Golden Tilefish, Long tail bass, Yellow-edge Grouper, Snowy Grouper, and other deepwater fish in the 600 to 1500 foot range. Not to worry, for this type of fishing we provide the latest in electronic assisted reels to aide our anglers in pulling these unique fish out of extreme depths.
The Intimidator is located at the prestigious Orange Beach Marina just a few minutes away from some of the best fishing in the entire Gulf of Mexico. For the avid saltwater angler it serves as an outlet for all types of fishing adventures. If you’re not a salty veteran fisherman, it offers an upscale, laid back private marina atmosphere that is not commercialized with the typical charter boat marina setting. The few working charter boats on the grounds are located at the marina by invitation only with a majority of the marina populated with privately owned yachts. In addition to the distinguished fleet, the marina also provides a specialized dock store, as well as, Calypso Joe’s and the Palms Restaurants.
